Developers from the Marble Horse Free Software Group actively participated in semi-formal testing of Rik van Riel's stable-tree Linux kernel VM patches. Testing results were supplied to Rik and to Alan Cox (stable-tree kernel maintainer). Rik's patches were tested on a variety of x86 hardware in a structured manner. These patches yield notably better stability and performance on systems with less than 128MB of RAM as opposed to previous kernel VM code. Due to successful widescale functional testing, Rik van Riel's VM patches have been integrated into the stable tree kernel with the 2.2.15pre3 prerelease.
